Tenants

A tenant is an organization of Entrosity Hub that has Entrosity Axis enabled; it has the organization's ID, name and slug. Organizations are created, renamed, suspended and reactivated, and given or denied Axis, on the Hub (Platform administration); Axis follows within about a minute.

In Axis

Global admins open a tenant with the tenant switcher; the list of tenants, their status and members is on the Hub's organization administration (Axis has no tenant pages of its own).

Tenant settings that belong to Axis (time zone, update channel, retention) are changed by tenant admins in Tenant settings. Requiring two-factor authentication is an organization setting of the Hub, enforced before members can open Axis.

Suspend and reactivate

Suspending the organization on the Hub, or removing Axis from it:

  • signs its users out of Axis and refuses them (within about a minute on every replica);
  • closes the tenant's API;
  • disconnects its agents and connectors (close code 4003) and drops their cached keys;
  • deletes no data.

Reactivating it (or enabling Axis again) restores access for users at the next sync. Agents and connectors stop their service when they are disconnected as revoked, so after reactivation they come back when their service starts again (at the next reboot, or with sc start RMMAgent / sc start RMMConnector). Their keys are still valid; re-enrolling is not needed.

note

Axis never deletes a tenant: an organization that disappears from the Hub is suspended in Axis. Purging a tenant's data is not implemented yet.
