Schedules
A room disabled with Turn back on automatically (Rooms → Disable until) has a re-enable schedule. Schedules lists them:
- Upcoming re-enables: rooms waiting to be turned back on, with Room, Back on at, Disabled by and Status.
- Failed re-enables: rooms that were not turned back on automatically. Check them on the rooms page and enable them by hand.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Waiting (pending) | The time has not come yet. |
Turning on… (firing) | The time has come; the enable was sent to the connector (or is being retried). |
Done (done) | The room was switched back on and confirmed. |
Cancelled (cancelled) | Cancelled by hand, replaced by a newer change of the room, or the room was enabled by hand. |
Failed (failed) | The re-enable did not succeed; Detail says why. |
Cancel a re-enable
Cancel on the schedule (or Cancel automatic re-enable on the room's
card) asks Cancel the automatic re-enable?: the room stays disabled
until someone enables it. Only a Waiting schedule can be cancelled
(schedule_not_pending otherwise). Cancelling needs the right to switch
the room.
How a re-enable runs
At the time, Matrix marks the schedule Turning on… and sends an enable of the room as the System (the history shows System and the action Automatic re-enable). It goes through every check of a manual change: the firewall must be current and allow changes, the connector's guard must be accepted, and at write time the connector's authorization checks that the schedule is still the one firing (not who disabled the room: a teacher who lost the right does not stop the re-enable).
- Connector offline or firewall stale: Matrix retries, first after 30 seconds, then doubling up to every 15 minutes.
- After 24 hours without success the schedule is Failed.
- The enable was refused or failed (for example the guard is not accepted, or changes were switched off in the meantime): Failed, with the reason.
- Unconfirmed: the room may be on; check it on the rooms page.
- A schedule whose time passed while the server was down is picked up within a minute of it starting again.
A failed re-enable leaves the room off. Look at Failed re-enables after an outage of the connector or the FortiGate, and enable the rooms there by hand.
